Parisian Skies Lyrics
Parisian skies,
Shadows beneath your eyes,
All we have is now,
And the arc of your brow
You came to leave these shores,
You had an inkling in your pores.
We came to bid farewell,
The tears began to swell.
Ooooo, Oooooooo
Ohhhhh
I don't think she knew,
And I can't forget her
The dark with holes,
Our lives unfold,
We always slept so well,
Our bodies seemed to gel.
The mind persists,
We have thoughts to exist,
It was a test I failed,
Her passion never tailed.
Ooooo, Oooooooooo
Ohhhhh
I don't think she knew,
How much I loved her.
Ohhhhh,
I don't think she knew.
Is this the thrill of the chase,
How can I keep up the pace.
Parisian skies,
Shadows beneath your eyes,
We always slept so well,
The present cast a spell.
You said we never talked,
But there's a lightness that it brought.
Refracting all my sins,
We never (acted thin)
Oooooo, Ooooooooo
Ohhhhh
I don't think she knew,
How much I loved her
Ohhhhh
I don't think she knew,
Your loss is mine too.
Did you ever feel the thrill of the chase,
The breath on your neck,
And the locked embrace
Did you ever feel the thrill of the chase,
The hairs on your neck,
And a lost embrace
All of the tiny events in your back,
It reminds me of the way that porcelain cracks.
Shadows beneath your eyes,
All we have is now,
And the arc of your brow
You had an inkling in your pores.
We came to bid farewell,
The tears began to swell.
I don't think she knew,
And I can't forget her
Our lives unfold,
We always slept so well,
Our bodies seemed to gel.
We have thoughts to exist,
It was a test I failed,
Her passion never tailed.
I don't think she knew,
How much I loved her.
Ohhhhh,
I don't think she knew.
How can I keep up the pace.
Shadows beneath your eyes,
We always slept so well,
The present cast a spell.
But there's a lightness that it brought.
Refracting all my sins,
We never (acted thin)
I don't think she knew,
How much I loved her
Ohhhhh
I don't think she knew,
The breath on your neck,
And the locked embrace
The hairs on your neck,
And a lost embrace
It reminds me of the way that porcelain cracks.

Rebecca left his just after the first album had started to get popular, which is why alot of the 2nd album songs are sung around there experiances and how he didn't want her to leave, but tbh, he brought it on himself, he was seen all around Newcastle hanging around with some blonde leggy groupie, but I think most of the songs are about how heartbroken he was over her going. Which is why you get the lines "I don't think she knew, How much I loved her." because he cheated on her, she's obviously not going to think that he loved her so much. And again with the "It was a test I failed," he failed not cheating on her, tbh this song always makes me feel sad because even though he cheated, he's like telling the world in his songs he was a git, it's kind of romantic.
'Ohhhhh I don't think she knew, How much I loved her Ohhhhh I don't think she knew,
Ohhh Rebecca your loss is mine too.'
Shouldn't it be that?
i thought that too! It's my name, and i nearly fainted when i heard him sing it!! swoons
it definitely is, it says that in the album bookleet thing. i love the way he sings/says "cracks" at the end of the song...its a really good end to the album how it just goes quiet.
i knew he was saying rebecca! i feel cool because my name is in the song. and god do i love this.
i wasnhadn't really noticed anything special about the way he says cracks until i read that post ^^ and listened for it specifically... now i totally agree with jenibeni. i love this song and 'your urge'
we never (acted thin) lacked a thing?
I think it's "tiny veins" not "tiny events"
I think it's "tiny veins" not "tiny events"
at glasto paul said "this is a song about two broken hearts, well, at least one. this is for rebecca". similar to books from boxes in that rebecca is leaving. clearly didnt want her to go!
