I can't quite figure why I fight for the common good
against injustice, supporting humanitarian efforts,
when it all (seems to be) spit back/in our faces.
So take a look around, tell me what you see.
How can I care when I can't find peace (in my surroundings)?
I can't change the world into utopian dreams
when I face true human realities.
It's hard to openly love humanity when my heart is impeded by cynicism. I can't always see beauty when I can't look beyond imperfection.
Optimist-I'd like to be hopeful
Pessimist-but I'm doubtful
Analyst-scrutinize evidence
Realist-human nature's enduring
How can I live like this? I'd like to be hopeful.
