A Reason For Broken Wings

this is my fav song from a skylit drive.

I think he sings of how love can be a war. and he wants this girl so bad and loves her so much. at the begining of the song i think the girl doesnt notice how much he loves her. so he feels like he is in conflict with himself. and all he wants is for her to know what he feels. then i think towards the end of the song he finally gets her to see how he feels and thus the last chorus:

well that is what i think the song means to me. i am going through a similar situation right now. but yeah that is what i think it means

My take on this song is that it's about a dying soldier going through his last moments of life, this song is his message to his family, friends and wife & kids possibly, he's telling them he'll always be there with them in memory "Dream of me, locked inside your mind I’ll hide"

I'm not coming home is what gave it away for me, and no offense to people who think it's him trying to get a girl, but usually in a song about that if he's trying to get the girl... they wouldn't have a home together for him to go to already....

yeah. its deff about his going to war and not coming home (death). and the "spring morning rain" is him trying to tell her to find peace and dont worry about him.

• It's explaining that he's going through war, and that he is possibly going to die, and eventually does, as explained later.

• Spring morning rain, may be a sign of his departure from life, or heaven..hence the heal the wounds in me part in the song..the battle is won I'm not coming home, it's saying basically the battle is over, but he has died..

• Basically same as the last verse, but using a different way of describing healing.

• Possibly this is from him looking down from Heaven or as a ghost even..watching over the one he loves, saying don't worry, just dream of me..

• He's saying that he'll be in her memories forever, in the back of her mind. Of course she is going to miss him and call out his name, possibly in a dream..and have the memory of his breath on her skin..

• this verse is really self explanitory, saying that as if she is dreaming some people hold onto the sheets..the lights are out when you sleep..And most people have a recolection of memories in their sleep..always going to dream of him, so it feels right.

Shaking, squirming in your skin tonight Oh my Marie, oh my Marie

• She misses him and he's calling out her name as a ghost or from heaven.

• obviously he misses her, broken wings..may mean he's broken inside from having to leave his love one..

This is just my take on the song, one of my absolute favorites.. ^_^;

I think this song talking about someone at war and his girlfriend can only be with him in her dreams. After he dies at war.

This song tells a long way story, begins with "he" loves "her" way to much but she doesn't realize that he loves her. But he never told her all the time.

Everyday feels like a war, a battle that he's struggling to fight cause situations they have makes him unable to say that he loves her. He can only hopes that one day he'll have a happy ending.

Till the day come in spring rainy morning, somehow he's dying helping her and finally she knows that he loves her so much. But it's too late cause he's dying. Yes he has won, and it heals the wounds he has over times aback. When she knows he loves her so much he's dying, and he doesn't want to go, but this is it the final day of his story.

That day, he really feels like he's being stitched by the irony of his fate. Why he dies at the time she finally realizes he loves her.

The words "close your eyes just dream" spoken by her in this song. When he said that he has won the battle, she said "close your eyes just dream" that means "just rest in pieces". But he doesn't want to go, cause the battle is won. Then she said again "close your eyes just" but she doesn't finish the word cause she can't take anymore word for she's crying inside for this fate too.

When he realize she can't take anymore sad she has, he said to dream about him, cause he's locked inside her heart that hides inside and they'll meet there.

The night after, when she's bed she feels like there's someone grasping her sheets, turn out the lights. But then when she wakes she realize there's no one there but her. Cause holding on memories may cause imaginations that never feels so right.

And in time, he comes to her as a ghost to shakes and squirms her skin. But he can feel any more touch so does her, and he just screams her name ,"oh my Marie, oh my Marie".

And this is exactly the reason he loves her, he fight his battle and his war for the sake of her knowings about his feeling to her.

And the rest is the same meaning of above. And this is just my take on this song, and not trying to offense any other thoughts

i think song is sang from like the point of view of a ghost. in the beginning he explains how he is dead.

then right there he's trying to tell either his a. wife, b. gf, or c. best friend he is love with but she doesn't know, that his dead but doesn't know about and she is like wondering where he's gone or what happened to him. now i think he could of died in like either a war sense or anything else you could think of that would go along with the beginning verse.

and right there is like a figure of speech like he's an angel but his wife/gf won't/can't hear him so he's sorta saying like he can't fly with out her knowing.
