this song was lovely in '500 days of summer'. i feel like it fit the movie really well.
how i see it: the guy is in love with the girl, she's "got him high" but the girl doesn't believe in love ("we've lost romance this world has turned so see through"- how she views love) he tells her to "open your mind, believe it's going to come to" then he's thinking "keep romance alive and hope she's going to tell you" like he's hoping that she's going to tell him that he's shown her love, and she believes now.

I absolutely loved that movie. I feel like most people that thoroughly enjoy that film can find that some parts of it may resonate in their own personal experiences. I liked your interpretation of the lyrics fitting into the theme of that film.

overall the song sounds so positive, makes my mood go up :) I guess it's basically about falling in love and love in general?!
I agree with the lyrics correction, but I definitely go for the 500 Days meaning, namely this is a song about unrequited love. He loves her, but she doesn't really love him. For her, it's a casual, "in-the-meantime" relationship, and he can't see that, and doesn't want to.

It's a very pretty and clear song. It's about a guy who doesn't know a girl loves him, but someone else, like an author of a book, does and he's like telling him. And he tells the guy that he shouldn't be muttering around but open his mind because the girl certainely loves him! :)

My take on the song is the guy falls for a girl and he tries to show his love for her with hope that he will win her affection.
