The Beginning of the End Lyrics
Down on your knees, you'll be left behind
This is the beginning
Watch what you think, they can read your mind
This is the beginning
I got my mark, see it in my eyes
This is the beginning
My reflection I don't recognize
This is the beginning
We think we climb so high
All up the backs we've condemned
We face our consequence
This is the beginning of the end
You wait your turn, you'll be last in line
This is the beginning
Get out the way, 'cause I'm getting mine
This is the beginning
God helps the ones that can help themselves
This is the beginning
May be too late as far as I can tell
This is the beginning
We think we've come so far
On all our lies we depend
We face our consequence
This is the beginning of the end
This is the beginning
Watch what you think, they can read your mind
This is the beginning
I got my mark, see it in my eyes
This is the beginning
My reflection I don't recognize
This is the beginning
We think we climb so high
All up the backs we've condemned
We face our consequence
This is the beginning of the end
You wait your turn, you'll be last in line
This is the beginning
Get out the way, 'cause I'm getting mine
This is the beginning
God helps the ones that can help themselves
This is the beginning
May be too late as far as I can tell
This is the beginning
We think we've come so far
On all our lies we depend
We face our consequence
This is the beginning of the end

Very Similar to metal but it is still very good. on a different note i'm wondering if year zero is going to be the only release by nine inch nails without explicit lyrics.
My favorite song on the album thus far.
while yes some of the album is definitely portraying the bush administration i think it is more of a broader sense of the pure disarray in the U.S and around the world.
and through hearing about the recent listening parties they do actually curse as well. But when i wrote that post i didn't realize that it was the content of the songs rather than just the words. Sorry
Drop the Bush bullshit. This is not ONLY about him. This entire album is about what our government has been doing to us for years. Bush isn't the only one. Clinton did some stupid shit too...he just hid it well."Down on your knees you'll get left behind" Stop buying all this shit....start standing up and voicing your thoughts and beliefs. DOn't just be another sheep following the herd. It's all about art is reistance. Now...WAKE UP AND GIVE A SHIT. That's what it means. Bush is the man we all love to hate...but it's not just him. It's not going to magically dissapear when he's gone.
"on a different note i'm wondering if year zero is going to be the only release by nine inch nails without explicit lyrics."
The lyrics are explicit enough without curse words. I don;t think I have to mention this but this album is obviously all about the bush administration.
We think we've climbed so high Up all the backs we've condemned We face the consequence*
This part needs some help I'm not sure exactly what a couple words are: We think we've come so far, -- all our lives ------------ We've seen the consequence
Reminds me of "Metal".
no, i downloaded the leaked version of the full album, and its chock full of "shits" and "fucks". so, expect to see the parental advisory sticker on it. oh, and Y0 is fucking awesome. good music to have sex to, if you're into that sort of thing (which i happen to be). pleasnt hooters.
I can't stop listening to this album, and I absolutely love the concept behind it - My views have been much of the same lately. This song is pretty self-explanatory when you hear it right after "Hyperpower!"
In my opinion, I'm hearing,
"We think we've come so far, On all the lies we depend, We've seen the consequence, This is the beginning of the end."
But I could be mistaken...
i like this song..
