Q&A
It Lyrics
I was in the closet
Sucking on my medicine
Waiting for an answer
Praying for a Savior
When suddenly I heard a voice
Singing in my back yard
I put on my yellow overcoat
You wouldn't believe what I saw
I hid in the lilacs
And watched the figure dancing
But the dandelions saw me
You tattletales!
You tattletales!
From another galaxy
Would you please take me
Cause everything here is confusing
Everything here is confusing
She gave me a piece of rhubarb
And left me here in the backyard
She took a sparrow on her ship
I guess I wasn't ready for it
Sucking on my medicine
Waiting for an answer
Praying for a Savior
When suddenly I heard a voice
Singing in my back yard
I put on my yellow overcoat
You wouldn't believe what I saw
And watched the figure dancing
But the dandelions saw me
You tattletales!
You tattletales!
Would you please take me
Cause everything here is confusing
Everything here is confusing
She gave me a piece of rhubarb
And left me here in the backyard
She took a sparrow on her ship
I guess I wasn't ready for it

This song feels like becoming an atheist to me.
The first part is drifting from faith, hoping something will make you believe again. When you finally get out of it, you see differently, all of your opinions change based on what the world is really like to you, not what you've been taught. The dandelions are liked loved ones that don't agree with you, which is annoying, because your view is really beautiful to you. "everything here is confusing" because you don't understand why you're not accepted and you don't see why people still hold to their beliefs. You want to escape, maybe even just for a while. "I guess I wasn't ready for it." She left you with what she had and flew away. The little help she can give. You have to survive with this little bit.
So what is it? Realization, acceptation, something....
