Me, I'm Not Lyrics
And it's happening
Never planned on this
You got something I need
Kind of dangerous
And I'm losing control
I'm not used to this
What you want from me?
I'm not used to this
Can't seem to shut it off
This thing I've begun
And it's hard to tell—just
Where it's coming from
And it's hard to see
What I'm capable of
And it's hard to believe—just
What I've become
Hey
Can we stop?
Me, I'm not
I can swallow it down
Keep it all inside
I define myself
By how well I hide
Feel it coming apart
Well at least I tried
I can win this war
By knowing not to fight
If I take it all back
Some way somehow
If I knew back then
What I know right now
Hey
Can we stop?
Me, I'm not
Never planned on this
You got something I need
Kind of dangerous
And I'm losing control
I'm not used to this
What you want from me?
I'm not used to this
Can't seem to shut it off

It's "Hey, can we stop" Not what you have up there (can't stop). Aside from that, I believe that your lyrics are correct.
With the conceptualization that Trent has already put into play over this album . . . I would figure that this song is ACTUALLY about the Sniper.
I say this because the Sniper was once one of the Fictious Military Division. The "105th Airborne Crusaders" to be exactly. Pertaining to the audio files found on the ARG websites for this album, the Sniper ends up aiming at the government for what he learned about them:
"if I knew back then what I know right now"
He starts aiming to show people what they are blinded to, even if it takes extreme measures. So, the lines
"Hey, Can we stop Me, I'm not"
Is about him not "putting up his gun" and continuing to use it as he was instructed to do: To stop the oppressers of the people.
Also, the information (audio file and 105thairbornecrusaders website) came out directly before this song was "leaked".
yeah, i agree. it's concerning soldiers and war: "you've got something I need kind of dangerous" perhaps directly indetifying with the afgan/iraq war: we were told of clear evidence of nuclear weapons of mass destruction.

all through out the song, it appears to be from a soldier/infantry's point of view (some one low down in the heirarchy: who gets told what to do.) the government didnt, and still hasnt, told us the whole truth. if only we knew back then what we know right now.

Either that, or it could be about AIR [Art Is Resistance]. The only reason I shifted focus to that POV are 4 lines:
"I define myself by how well I hide"
If you go to the AIR site and look at the "message board", he was actually someone who went out and spraypainted the outline of an body in a ton of different spots. His message only got out by how well he hid.
"I can win this war by knowing not to fight"
A lot of the other users on the AIR "board" argue that this is passive civil resistance and that by not turning violent they're convincing more and more to join them. That's the concept behind AIR.
I think this song is about him telling ppl that he's not one of them..to just stop.. he's not.
To me this is simply about moral hypocrisy. Can we all stop living the way we're living and treating people / the planet badly (Me? I'm not).
" Me, I'm not " deals with regret on how someone turned out for worse. Its hard to understand what this song means without hearing the rest of this "highly conceptual" Year Zero.
I'm looking forward to the 4.17.07 release.
Three things I'm guessing this is one of the songs you can fuck to. this sounds sexual if taken out of context, and it has a fairly strong resemblance to even deeper. Great song can't waiit for year zero.
agreed... seems thats what my girlfriend loves about it...

This song is sexy.
I am very impressed with this song. possibly about how he changing and he's not really himself. we probably need to know about the song and the ones around it to know more but so far this song kicks so much ass.
yeah, I think its about the sniper too. now, I really got a weird vibe from this song...feels like pink floyd meets korn.
Could it be about " The Presence" taking some one over. Distorting them and turning them into something they don't want to be?That is what I thought of when I first listened to the song.
