The Road Lyrics
Don't talk, don't say nothing
I've just packed my things and I'm headed for something
Where I'm going, well, I don't really know
The road is calling so I've got to go
Yes, the road is calling so I've got to go
We bid farewells
The winds blew like hell, said we'd meet again like some storybook tale
But no, we don't talk, we don't say nothing
I just pack my things and go headed for something
But where I was headed, well, I didn't really say
The road was calling and I was on my way
Yes, the road was calling and I was on my way
So don't talk, don't say nothing
I'll just pack my things and pretend like there's nothing between us no more
As I walked out the door, she closed it behind me and cried on the floor
And I couldn't talk, no, I couldn't say nothing
I'll just close my eyes and head blindly towards something
'Cause where I'm going, well, I don't really know
The road is calling so I've got to go
Yes, the road is calling so I've got to go
I've just packed my things and I'm headed for something
Where I'm going, well, I don't really know
The road is calling so I've got to go
Yes, the road is calling so I've got to go
The winds blew like hell, said we'd meet again like some storybook tale
But no, we don't talk, we don't say nothing
I just pack my things and go headed for something
But where I was headed, well, I didn't really say
The road was calling and I was on my way
Yes, the road was calling and I was on my way
I'll just pack my things and pretend like there's nothing between us no more
As I walked out the door, she closed it behind me and cried on the floor
And I couldn't talk, no, I couldn't say nothing
I'll just close my eyes and head blindly towards something
'Cause where I'm going, well, I don't really know
The road is calling so I've got to go
Yes, the road is calling so I've got to go

Beautiful song. My favorite from Costa. Seems to me it's about a break-up where both people are feeling pretty beat up and feel they need to move on, regardless of how hard it is.
i love this song. you get that sad happy feeling
it's the part of the movie where the guy is talking about giving kudos to the surfers that just wander around going where the waves are. I think it's about this guy who can't really commit to a relationship because he loves going around doing his thing too much to have a regular life, so he just packs up his things and leaves when the time is right for him
But no, we don't talk, we don't say nothing I just pack my things and go headed for something But where I was headed, well, I didn't really say The road was calling and I was on my way
Before the songstarts there is a voiceover and he says: The number of certifiers keeps growing and growing, and we cling to our tride and true, and you know, we are creatures of comfort, and we find our patterns and stick to what we know best, but theres a big wide beautiful world out there, and for those that want it, its out there.
To me this song is about a surfer who loves a girl but is giong away, and they wanted to be together but both knew it wasnt possible becuase he was leaving, and now they dont talk, its like their relationship is on pause, its a really sad song, but its about moving on, theres nothing more to say sometimes, and life does go on.
My favorite part: She closed it behind me and cried on the floor
Sounds like a narcissistic ass to me! Good riddance
