i am a fan of Pinback (the band that originally did the song), so i was obviously thrilled to hear the new cover that he done. it turned out fantastic.

i think this song is talking about a fish. basically. this song is lovely though, because it makes you think about a girl and a boy and their relationship. it depends on how you would look at this song.

I think this song's about a fish and a human. Or at least, maybe two humans but one of them's comparing the other to a fish.

Anyway, the fish is bored just staying in its bowl, and it's struggling not to die of boredom, and the human's worried, and they're singing how they wish they could entertain the fish so it can't die. Maybe something like that.

I hope they know they killed this song badly. I would kill my self if i had to hear it by them again. they have nothing on pinback.

i adore this song. in my opnion it's more catchy and remix-y than the original. i like it better, but that's just me.

it's obviously just about a goldfish. stop overthinking it, kids. dropsy is a disease in goldfish. and the floating upside down thing cannot be really be about much else. haha. i really like the meaning. kutos to pinback for such creativity and a great song. but dan just has a stronger voice that completes the song.
