This song is about Chris' dad being a racecar driver, who used to drive a highly dangerous figure 8 shaped course sometimes, where crashes are inevitable. I know this is kinda obvious, but its a great song!
Are you sure? Because later on in the same album, Lightning Bolt talks about him being a gravedigger. I'm pretty sure the whole point of the racedriver thing is mainly an analogy about not stepping on the theoretical brakes & growing up to fill his 'profession', unless you actually have him talking about the lyrics or something.
