Perfectly Lyrics
Song title: Perfectly

Album Released: "Fry Street" (March 2005) & "Acoustic Sessions" (September 2005)
About:
The girl I wrote this for has helped me write some of my favorite songs, this being one of them. The reason it's one of my favorites is because it's one of the very very few songs that took little effort lyrically for me to write. Not that I didn't try hard, but that they came to me easily because it was exactly what I wanted to say. I've done that with few songs. It's weird to read over lyrics like these and know that I am sharing such a personal moment in my life with other people. Reading over the verse "How you leaned to me and how you'd sing to me..." was such a cloud nine moment, I'll never forget it. Sentimental, I know, but it really happened.

Perfectly
Written by Brad Skistimas
You’re the center of me
And you’re a sinner in me
A saint in the wait, but the weight keeps bringing me down
And I’m the beggar of you
You’re taking me when you choose
My words of desire are going to set me on fire tonight
Cause how you leaned on me
And how you’d sing to me
That’s what you mean to me,
And it’s perfectly you
And You’re the end of my nights,
The starting thoughts at sunrise
You’ve got me changing but the same things are holding me back
But what I do, it’s all for you
It’s understood you don’t like the change
But don’t leave me out, I want you now
I’m sorry how I can’t turn you away
But you’re worth so much, a priceless touch
And I worry, when you’re not perfectly you

this song's beautiful
My favorite FTA song. Ever.
I like the old version better.
"It’s understood you don’t like the change But don’t leave me out, I want you now I’m sorry how I can’t turn you away But you’re worth so much, a priceless touch And I worry, when you’re not perfectly you"
The whole song is about how much he loves her and how special she is and everything, but I think this verse is a reference to a fight they had, where she said "I wanna move on with my life/ I can't change for you" and then he says the don't-leave-me-out part, etc. He thinks she is an amazing girl and he loves her, but he worries when they get into these fights, when she is not "perfectly" her.
