Mission Bells Lyrics

I've been in the narrow slashes
Velvet red and real as rashes
California's got me wanting more of
Four years. Get me from this Capp Street
Veneration. There came the kill
I know you well enough, you will and
Who'll be sleeping under mission bells?

Leave me here and let me go for
Oceans on two sides
Your optimism paralleled a wake in English tides
How they must soothe you, night, day and night

Hypocrisy has smashed that atavistic take
On my commitment, one mistake
How's the new kid, all the new truths and the vileness, god forbid
I lie here waiting while the Mission bells are ringing, ringing
Out over the city and the sunshine and the doubt

Just posted to the moderators the corrected lyrics modernrocksong requested over a year ago... and in true modernist fashion, the true lyrics are even more opaque. One of the only things I can lend to the song meaning is geographic: "Get me from this Capp Street veneration", referring to one of the seedier streets of the Mission district in San Francisco (Hence Mission bells. There are pockets of the Mission district that for whatever reason defied or were overlooked by the overall gentrification of the district), by veneration does she mean convolescence? as in with all the trade (read trannies) going on outside (not to mention the shooting galleries and drunk day workers), I mostly stay indoors--as to where the narrows are in SF...? (like so much of this song another anglophile affectation...) Lobg live the aislers set
