What Would Steve Do? Lyrics
And when we got there
I wasn't sure
Had the world span
a little more than i had expected
when we set out
had I got wiser
overnight somehow
It was a great day when it changed
I lost my conscience on a well lit stage
And though the whole world didn't change
nothing mattered in the same way
oooh you are the best thing
oooh you just changed everything
Fine consider this the moment I
figured you would change my life
but don't think there'll be a next time.
Of course I know that
This can't go well
And I should leave this
I should let time tell
But every time I give you up
I get a phonecall
you are my first love
oooh you are the best thing
oooh you just changed everything
Fine consider this the moment I
figured you would change my life
but don't think there'll be a next time
I wasn't sure
Had the world span
a little more than i had expected
when we set out
had I got wiser
overnight somehow
I lost my conscience on a well lit stage
And though the whole world didn't change
nothing mattered in the same way
oooh you just changed everything
figured you would change my life
but don't think there'll be a next time.
This can't go well
And I should leave this
I should let time tell
But every time I give you up
I get a phonecall
you are my first love
oooh you just changed everything
figured you would change my life
but don't think there'll be a next time

awww i love this song. just about first love?
i'm sure i read in the fly that this song was written about the first producer (or maybe manager?) of their album who died while they were making it; his name was steve. mumm-ra felt like quitting, but they thought 'what would steve do?'. just a beautiful beautiful song
Awesome song, effin incredible bad, great sound, enuff said!
whoops band!***
it's not about Steve, nor was it written for him. It is true though, that Steve was their manager and he died.
"although the song's not about him at all. We just called it that because we thought he'd love it"- mumm-ra
