Carolina Heat Lyrics
We're at the tip-top, yeah
We're not getting any better than this
I'm out of lines, girl
I'm not getting any smoother than this
But could you blame me if I, if I, if I
Took you all for prisoner with just one line, one lie
Because I'll be the preacher to all his converts
Donate now to my rightful cause
But what good is a quick healing to go?
If the lesson is never learned
It's just like stitches for show
They say the Carolina heat
Isn't something that keeping a cool head can beat
But don't discount their winter winds
And all the cold shoulders
That the slightest draft lets in
But with empty stomachs and hungry eyes
Our only choice was to swallow pride
But I guess you just are better than the rest
We're at the ground floor
But our numbers they only get higher from here
It's not the failure, but the cost of success
Is the thing I can't help but fear
This isn't righteous
It's a mid-life crisis
I'm not compelled
You just convinced me to write this
It's for the greater good
'Cause I'd rather be great than good
They say the Carolina heat
Isn't something that keeping a cool head can beat
But don't discount their winter winds
And all the cold shoulders
That the slightest draft lets in
But with empty stomachs and hungry eyes
Our only choice was to swallow pride
But I guess you just are better than the rest
Your skin was appealing wallpaper
Now your skin is just peeling wallpaper
They say the Carolina heat
Isn't something that keeping a cool head can beat
But don't discount their winter winds
And all the cold shoulders
That the slightest draft lets in
But with empty stomachs and hungry eyes
Our only choice was to swallow pride
But I guess you just are better than the rest

Whenever I listen to this song, it sounds like "the slightest giraffe lets in" instead of "the slightest draft lets in" and it amuses me greatly. that's all.
the last "you just ain't much better than the rest" on the lyrics should be "...ate much better than the rest." the lyrics were posted by ben on the ymaewk blog on their myspace say that it's "are much better than the rest." love this song.
Yeah, it's "I guess you just ATE much better than the rest" reverting back to the part that says "our only choice was to swallow pride" meaning "you" had more pride.
Anyway this song is great, I heard something about them getting the idea from this song while they were touring through the Carolinas. It seems to me that it's about an ex lover or someone he was caught up in, it's pretty much their only slower tempo song and I think that's pretty rad.
Easily one of the best songs by them. This band is a good mix of Say Anything and Panic! at the Disco. Good pop beat with amazing lyrics
greaaaaat song!!!! i wanna hear some more of this guys!
i like their music, lyrics are always great and all their songs are so catchy
haha you're right. Thanks. I took those from YMAEWK's site and didn't really read it over for any mistakes.
i really love this song, but i can't for the life of me figure out what it's about. =/
i think it's about how he liked a girl a lot, but when they finally got over the initial rush, he realized that she wasn't as amazing as he thought she was.
i'm probably wrong, though =/
I think youre right. because he says "your skin was appealing wallpaper now your skin is just pealing wallpaper" i think that means you were attractive. but not so much anymore.
