Just Another Day Lyrics
Bobby Doll and big Jim Picato
Call me up every single day
They don't work and they don't want to
Come on down to some damn cafe
Bobby doll tells me
Live in the moment
Don't get too far ahead-
Don't live in the past
I blink my eyes
And the moment is over
I guess another day
Has passed
Chorus:
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day
Bobby Doll and big Jim Picato
Always there with their free advice
Theyve got pearl handled pistols
Underneath their wests
They want me to go out drinking
With them tonight
Chorus:
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day
You got to clean white sheets
In the mornin'? br> conversation all afternoon
Bobby doll and big jim picato, baby
And me and you
Chorus:
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day
But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day
Call me up every single day
They don't work and they don't want to
Come on down to some damn cafe
Live in the moment
Don't get too far ahead-
Don't live in the past
I blink my eyes
And the moment is over
I guess another day

But its just another day
Its just another day
Watching girls on the street
Well, that alright with me
But its just another day

How in God's name can there not be any reivews for this song? Its awesome, its one of my all time favorites. I use to play this all the time when I was a freshman at my college radio station. I'm not sure what else to say. I love the way it sounds, and the song sticks with me. I write stories in my spare time, and I've wanted to use this song so many times.
I always wondered what they meant by the pearl handled pistols bit. I'm not quite sure what that means or what wests are. If someone else was to comment I might have an idea. I've seen the video a couple times and I dont remember seeing a pistol of any kind in the vid. I might have to watch it again. This is my first time reviewing on the site. Anyway like I said this is one of my all time favorites and I think its sad that no one else has commented on this song. Come on people, if you love John Mellencamp, you have to love this song! What is there not to like about it. Seriously John Mellencamp is one of my all time favorites. Great song.
@Pop RoxStar Your right brother, it’s an awesome song! As far as meaning.. I’d have to say it’s about taking it easy and enjoying life surounded by some colorful people like Bobie Doll and Big Jim Picato. Maybe a southern states kinda lifestyle. Easy going but don’t fuck with them cause they mean business (pearl handle pistols under their vests) kinda friends that like to drink daily and nightly. Great music! Love John Mellencamp!
