She Said Boston, I Said I Knew All Along Lyrics

The air is tight, your hands are cold,
Take a few breaths before you walk out the door.
This jealousy, or a melody, remember
All is fair in love and war.

Something tells me that I could be wrong about this,
(Something tells me that I could be wrong)
Don't you tell me that I've got potential,
Do you really think it's helpful,
To tell me I'm not quite there.

Spill it out, without a doubt,
Was everything all that you wanted and more.
So miserable, and typical, remember
All is fair in love and war.

Something tells me that I could be wrong about this,
(Something tells me that I could be wrong)
Don't you tell me that I've got potential,
Do you really think it's helpful,
To tell me I'm not quite there.

All is fair in love and war

Something tells me that I could be wrong about this,
(Something tells me that I could be wrong)
Don't you tell me that I've got potential,
Do you really think it's helpful,
To tell me I'm not quite there.

Cover art for She Said Boston, I Said I Knew All Along lyrics by Write This Down

Love this song! My favorite of Write This Down. I think it's about a fight between a guy and his girlfriend. She's either saying he's not good enough for her (not what she's looking for), or he doesn't have what it takes to accomplish something; a goal. It sounds like they had a fight over it, and she walked out. He's angry that she was so honest, and doesn't think it was very helpful that she said he wasn't "quite there". But in the end, all is fair in love and war.
