This song is way too fucking good. One of the best hardcore song's ever written, possibly THE best.
The first half is about stupid girls who are obsessed with appearances and the second half is about guys who think they're tough.
Flynn punctuates his arguments with a powerful line at the end of each verse.
i.e. "True beauty can't be seen with the eyes!" and "Boy, your true strength sleeps behind your eyes!"

this is song is what everyone hear is saying about how some girls focus way to much on their appearance and what they do to get attention when all a true man looks for in a woman is the pure beauty inside them. and to the second verse the kids that believes since their in a crew they are the shit but when it comes down to it they all are cowards cuz they cant fend or defend themselves and have to people to back them up.
and to anyone who believes not being straightedge means you cant be into hardcore needs to go back to the days of black flag, minor threat, 7 seconds, and the minutemen and see that true hardcore is about staying true to yourself and not going with everyone else just to look cool. in no way am i straightedge i smoke pot everyday, i drink a good amount, and i am addicted to cigarrettes but i chose all this on my own noone else has told me to do anything but i am still a moral person with principles. if your straightedge in my opinion thats fuckin great but stay true and do it for yourself and nobody else cuz if you do it cuz your friends do then youve lost the whole meaning to the greatness of hardcore.

hahahahaha. the first hardcore band was Black Flag...anyone who calls them straight-edge is a fucking idiot. Ian Mackaye from more notable band Minor Threat was well-known for ORIGINAL straight-edge morals...that hardcore was for everyone and above all sxe was about unity and respect.
hardcore is about doing what you want. maybe you should ACTUALLY listen to the lyrics of this song and maybe youll learn that.
