Last year's wishes are this year's apologies
Every last time I come home
I take my last chance
To burn a bridge or two
I only keep myself this sick in the head
'Cause I know how the words get you (off)

We're the new face of failure
Prettier and younger, but not any better off
Bulletproof loneliness at best, at best

Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you

Collect the bad habits that you couldn't bear to keep
Out of the woods, but I love
A tree I used to lay beneath
Kid's teeth stained red
From a sour bottle, baby girl
With eyes the size of baby worlds

We're the new face of failure
Prettier and younger, but not any better off
Bulletproof loneliness at best, at best

Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you

Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you

The best way to make it through
With hearts and wrists in tact
Is to realize two out of three ain't bad, ain't bad

Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you, setting in a honeymoon (Honeymoon)
Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you
If I woke up next to you
Me and you, setting in a honeymoon
If I woke up next to you (Honeymoon)

i think this song is about a break-up. like, most of you might think that's stupid, but I really do:

"Last year’s wishes Are this year’s apologies [he's saying that everything he wanted the year before is now regretted] Every last time I come home I take my last chance To burn a bridge or two [to get rid of everything they once had] I only keep myself this sick in the head cause I know how the words get to you [he's only doing this because she still wants him]"

"We’re the new face of failure [they've broken up] Prettier and younger but not any better off [they're young and naiive, but it doesn't mean the break-up doesn't hurt] Bulletproof and loneliness [I really think it's "Bulletproof loneliness", but anyway] at best, at best [It means he refuses to feel bad about the break-up]

"Me and you Setting in a honeymoon If I woke up next to you, If I woke up next to you [what would they do if they were still together?] Me and you Setting in a honeymoon If I woke up next to you, If I woke up next to you"

"Collect the bad habits That you couldn’t bear to keep [he's talking about the bad side of her, and how she denies being like that, but he sees through her disguise] Out of the woods but I love The tree I used to lay beneath is tea stained red From sour bottled baby girl with eyes the size of baby worlds

[I actually think that the 4th and 5th lines are wrong. They should be: A Tree, I Used To Lay Beneath, Kissed Teeth Stained Red From A Sour Bottle Baby Girl, With Eyes The Size Of Baby Worlds.]

this is just my interpretation, but i really do think it's about a break-up..

the video clip is the saddest clip i have ever seen =[ but it's really good

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
