I love the ending of this song, when he's semi-screaming, singing oooh-oooh-ooh and there's the piano in the background and it's kind of going crazy...I also love the piano part after he says "to hell with the going down" for the last time...soooo pretty. Just everything about this song is great.
To me this song is about dealing with the struggles you have in your life, and realizing there is more to life than what meets the eye. There is more to life than just the material world we live in. There's something beyond that, whatever you think it may be or whatever it means to you. It's a very sad and chaotic song, but I think the overall message is that you have to face your problems or your problems will overcome you and you won't be able to see the beauty and the meaning in life.
This song is amazing. the guitar riff that starts about a third of the way through is so catchy.
The meaning is pretty straight forward. The person is trying to look at the positive things in life but is ultimately struggling with a lot. A pretty common theme throughout the entire album.

Just the words are beautiful? In the first line: There must be purpose here cause most of us keep waking up why do we keep going, getting up every morning to the predictable? There has got to be something about living, a greater purpose than just tuning oxygen into carbon dioxide. I love the lines after the first stanza, about forgivness....there has to be a God. I love how he is trying to figure out life just by looking at his surroundings and the people he sees. Its a perfect song. I love it.

I love this song, my favorite on the album. I almost love how I can disagree with half the lyrics and still be drawn into the song completely. Wonderful. Ahhhhh.
