This piece is probably one of the happiest moments in a Nick Drake album; it sounds like a "song without words", very peaceful, like spending time in a forest away from the clutter of ordinary life. JMO.
Nick Drake suffered from Major Depression and showed signs of Asperger's Syndrome, He longed, hoped to feel better thus Brighter Later (a play on words)....however he did tons of pot and later succumbed to heroin as per his sister.... good luck !..... or rather he ran out of luck.. he died of an accidental overdose of Amitrypline (Elavil)... the chimes of his clock stopped chiming..
