I agree with the first poster and the whole instant celebrity. &To Donal, the last poster; I think the title has a lot to do with what the song is about. It's not meant to be taken literally. Sound it out and see the context as a whole. Sounds a whole lot like 'stars in the rise', doesn't it?

I think it's about the current culture of the instant celebrity - particularly shows like x factor and things. They build up people's hopes and make people achieve their dreams of being famous, but it's not all it's cracked up to be, and soon enough they'll be nobodies again. Quite a happy sounding song considering the message, but I like it!

other than that this is a pretty good song, glad to see it got to nuber 2 in the chart this week!

this song is great! first few times i heard it i thought it may have been about drugs, maybe heroin because of the use of 'users' and the whole starz in thier eyes shizz, but now i think i agree more with 'treacheroustiger' his intake makes more sense haha its still a well good song tho! x

I think it means the celebrities management/agency...they are trying to set the VIP up in the beginning so they screw lots of stuff up- with alcohol etc, in order to get press attention.

The VIP can't believe their luck, they have fame, their dreams are coming true, but really people are trying to kick them down and things aren't so good.

The VIP thought life would be good, but after being set up...their problems have actually got worse.

Meaning they don't really care, they just want to make a bit of cash out of you.

I think that is aimed at the people who set up the celebrities, for example, managers, agents, judges on shows like 'Pop Idol'.

Probably things they said to the VIP before they became famous, how you would show everyone. They talked about the rise but not the fall. The shopping mall part probably means they aren't quite as famous anymore after being kicked down.

The parents are taking it at face value and think their child is doing really well, doing something with their lives. I think the 'users' bit has something to do with drugs...perhaps a lot of people where the famous person has come from has turned to drugs?

The tabloids still write about how the person isn't doing so well for themselves and that it's tough luck as they didn't HAVE to be famous.

I think "users" refers to new found "friends" when someone becomes famous, they use the fame and fortune but know it might not last, so laugh behind the persons back and look out for the next wannabe to take advantage of.

I think its quite straightforward that 'Starz in their eyes' means starstruck, so the question is why do you want to be famous? Why do you want to command all this attention? The obvious negative connotations are all attached, ie abusive managers (users), drugs (uncutting you(r) nose clean) etc. So all you posers must laugh off your drunken dreams now.

Starz In Their Eyes could also be seen as a play on 'Sparking' some one. For those of you who happen not to of been brought up in the UK, sparking some one is when you knock them out. Sparking refers to that fact that when you get knocked out you normaly see white flash just before you pass out.

well i am pobally going to be hated for this but i think it is rubbish and if he sees all these problems with fame why release a song and go into it yourself! appologies to all Just Jack lovers i think he is a good guy

The "User" part refers to the people who are all around you, getting paid for doing nothing and the management and all the new friends and things. And to "Loves Life" i think he wrote this song maybe based on his own experience and he maybe telling how the celebrity world really is... if some people didn't already know.
