Seize the Night Lyrics

Come with me and bless the night
Let the darkness be your salvation
Curse the day - escape the light
Break the chain of imagination

Come with me and seize the night
Now's the time for some inspiration
Leave the day and loose the light
No taboos only new sensations...

In the shadows of the city
A hero's waiting for the call
And all the angels are waking up
And all the devils start to fall

In the shadows of the city
They're dying for a thrill
They're going out over the edge
They're moving in for the kill

You gotta curse the day: it's nothing but a merciless light
So open up your arms and then you get down on your knees
You suck in all the darkness and you're ready now to seize
Seize the night
Seize the night

Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine!
Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine!
Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine!
Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine! [etc.]

Dies irae, Kyrie! Sanctus, Sanctus exultate!

Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass
Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last
Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass
Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last

Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass
Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last...

Let your dreams out of their cages
Every passion and desire
Let your visions be outrageous
Set your fantasies on fire

Everything will be permitted
There'll be nothing left to fear
I got the magic in your body
Your inhibitions disappear

You gotta curse the day: it's nothing but a merciless light
So open up your arms and then you get down on your knees
You suck in all the darkness and you're ready now to seize
Seize the night
Seize the night

Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine!
Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine!
Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine!
Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine! [etc.]

Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass
Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last
Bless the night, memories collide to change the past
Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last

Carpe Noctem...
Carpe Noctem...

Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass
Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last...

Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine!
Dies irae, Kyrie! Sanctus, Sanctus exultate!..

Come with me and bless the night
Let the darkness be your salvation
Curse the day - escape the light
Break the chain of imagination

Come with me and seize the night

Leave the day and loose the light

The lyrics here are slightly incorrect. This is how it should be according to the official booklet:

You gotta curse the day It's nothing but a merciless lie So open up your arms and then you get down on your knees You're sucking on the darkness and you're ready now to seize Seize the night Seize the night

I like the orcastra at the beginning, going to the guitar solo from Bat Out Of hell II.

Yes, Pink. I love how songs revisit motifs.

I particularly like this song. Steinman teamed up with Andrew Lloyd Weber for the musical 'Whistle Down the Wind' which wasn't too much of a success. Weber mentioned he once considered asking Steinman to write lyrics for Phantom of the Opera. Though Steinman didn't write lyrics for the show, I would say this is his answer to "Music of the Night" from Phantom.

This is almost as good as Bohemian Rhapsody That's how good this song is it's 2nd greatest song of all time Bohemian Rhapsody is 1st And best ever Meat Loaf song

Nah this song tops bohiemian rhapsody, to me at least, I mean Bohiemian Rhapsody is brilliant, but all of Jim Stienmans songs are just indescribable and mixed with Meat Loafs incredible vocals and the emotion he puts into his songs, they cant be beat.

The song is from Jim Steinman's "Dance of the Vampires" play that was performed in France. The original name is "Carpe Noctem".
