Stop Draggin My Heart Around (with Stevie Nicks) Lyrics
Baby you'll come knocking on my front door
Same old line you used to use before
I said ya...well...what am I supposed to do
I didn't know what I was getting into
So you've had a little trouble in town
Now you're keeping some demon down
Stop draggin' my...Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around
It's hard to think about what you've wanted
It's hard to think about what you've lost
This doesn't have to be the big get even
This doesn't have to be anything at all
I know you really want to tell me good-bye
I know you really want to be your own girl
Baby you could never look me in the eye
Yeah, you buckle with the weight of the words
Stop draggin' my...Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around
There's people running 'round loose in the world
Ain't got nothing better to do
Than make a meal of some bright eyed kid
You need someone looking after you
I know you really want to tell me good-bye
I know you really want to be your own girl
Baby you could never look me in the eye
Yeah, you buckle with the weight of the words
Stop draggin' my...Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around
Stop draggin' my heart around
Stop draggin' my heart around...hey, hey
Stop draggin' my heart around...hey, hey
Stop draggin' my heart around...hey, hey
Same old line you used to use before
I said ya...well...what am I supposed to do
I didn't know what I was getting into
Now you're keeping some demon down
Stop draggin' my...Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around
It's hard to think about what you've lost
This doesn't have to be the big get even
This doesn't have to be anything at all
I know you really want to be your own girl
Yeah, you buckle with the weight of the words
Stop draggin' my...Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around
Ain't got nothing better to do
Than make a meal of some bright eyed kid
You need someone looking after you
I know you really want to be your own girl
Yeah, you buckle with the weight of the words
Stop draggin' my...Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around
Stop draggin' my heart around...hey, hey
Stop draggin' my heart around...hey, hey
Stop draggin' my heart around...hey, hey

I dont believe nobody ever posted any comment on this song, what a miss! this is one of the best duet ever. i havent really read the lyrics line by line but everything sounds beautiful, it's got some strange touch and i think that's all it takes.
It's 'weight of the world' not 'weight of the words'.
First, I'd like to say that I enjoyed the original version of this song but prefer the cover of Rob Thomas and Joss Stone. Anyhow, I think the meaning is quite clear: it's all about two people who are involved with eachother but not really meant to be together - they both know this but one of them keeps coming back (perhaps just using his/her lover) and then the other has difficulties to resist. So they should put a definite point to it: "stop draggin' my heart around". Just forget it and start a new!
rob thomas's performance on this is unforgivable! i hate it. only tom petty can do tom petty. and his version with stevie nicks is beautiful... magical. ahh i love it =)
The harmony in agreement after he sings;"I know you really want to tell me good-bye". Is priceless.
