Killer Lyrics

What did I do to deserve such a fate
I didn't really want to get
Involved in this thing
Someone handed me this gun and I
I gave it everything
Yeah, I gave it everything

I came into this life
Looked all around
I saw just what I liked
And took what I found
Nothing came easy
Nothing came free
Nothing came all until they
Came after me

Yeah-hey, yeah

Aaahhhhhhhh, aaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

(What did I do to deserve such a fate?)
(I gave it everything)
(Now I need to escape)
(Someone near me, calling my name)
(I gave it everything)
(I gave it everything - sigh)

(Chanting?)
...
...Miles and miles...

It's Latin - I think maybe the Lord's Prayer? When they had public hangings, your blue-blood criminals might have had prayers said for their soul as they walked to the gallows. This obviously isn't some aristocrat from way back when, it's a young punk with a gun - I think Alice just wanted the atmosphere laid on really thick. That trapdoor clunking open makes me jump every time. I suppose the weird noises at the end are the moment of death when the brainwaves turn to static. Powerful song!

I'm pretty sure the killer is executed by state justice at the end of the song. The slow part is him walking on deathrow hearing the prayer from the priest. And then the noise is the electric chair.

@Cucrapok Please, search for Alice Cooper hanging. The noises are of the neck stretching. The Electric Chair didn\'t come into being until the awesome album From The Inside. \r\nSoz to sound arrogant but I am old and Alice saved me with his lyrics when I was 14 lol. 1974. \r\nHard to find a good vid of the hanging but it is well worth it.
