Hair Down Lyrics
Conversations that went on terrible paths
Don't talk about that, no, no, don't talk about that
We're coming back loud and end this conversation
Said you let your hair down
You got enough to go round, oh mine
Said you let your hair down
But you've been telling me that since the day we meet
She's laughing like a choir girl
She's laughing like a choir girl
She's laughing like a choir girl
When she doubles over sounds like Hallelujah
She's talking to my mother
She's on the phone with my mother
She's talking to my mother
She's looking up at me like I'm a criminal
She bargains like a lawyer
Sacrifice like a martyr
She's just her mother's daughter
Cutting cloth and washing a pan
Man, we were still just babies
Dreaming of the '60s
Man, we were still just babies
Dressing up in rags with our wallets full
Now our pockets are shallow, our quart running low
I saw they're empty but I'm just a fool
A woman in the kitchen told me that true love it waits
But of all the rules he lives by, that's the one that he hates
Don't talk about that, no, no, don't talk about that
We're coming back loud and end this conversation
You got enough to go round, oh mine
Said you let your hair down
But you've been telling me that since the day we meet
She's laughing like a choir girl
She's laughing like a choir girl
When she doubles over sounds like Hallelujah
She's on the phone with my mother
She's talking to my mother
She's looking up at me like I'm a criminal
Sacrifice like a martyr
She's just her mother's daughter
Cutting cloth and washing a pan
Dreaming of the '60s
Man, we were still just babies
Dressing up in rags with our wallets full
I saw they're empty but I'm just a fool
A woman in the kitchen told me that true love it waits
But of all the rules he lives by, that's the one that he hates

Dukeofdrumming might well be deaf. The posted lyrics are correct.
"Man, we were still just babies dreaming of the sixties Man, we were still just babies dressing up in rags with our wallets full" absolutely love that stanza :) it reminds me of san francisco all these rich peoples' kids running around dressing like hippies a "dreamin of the sixties." they have money but they like to pretend they are wandering vagabonds because there is something so perfect, edgy and romantic about the sixties that it seems they can never have. and there's nothing wrong with that
Fantastic tune, really catchy!
They played it as their encore when I saw them recently. I was just waiting for it, I knew they had to come back on and play it. Truly amazing band, even more amazing live. If you get the chance to see them live then do!
its: "Roman in the kitchen told me true love it waits/but of all the rules he lives by that's the one that he hates"
that lyric is perfect
i believe girlmontag is correct. its: NOW, ROMAN in the kitchen told me true love it waits...
reminds me of my boyfriend.
i love the part "she's laughing like a choir girl" and how it's repeated. =) always gives me a smile
wow love this song so much i can never change it when it comes up on shuffle on my ipod. i always never really got it till i read this book Fahrenheit 451 cause there some line in it that reminded me of it but then i got it when he says "Said you let your hair downbut you've been telling me that since the day we meet" its like when you let your hair down figuratively not literally which is how i always took it but rather it means to let loose and give into 'of the moment' thoughts and just do w.e i love the meaning though.
btw what is the roman in the kitchen all about?
