Such a beautiful song. In the beginning, it has a real sadness going on. But in the end, it's like she found someone. I don't know. I just love this song.
The song may be speaking to a situation in which she has to leave a person who she cares about. She knows that she must leave, but she wishes she could be like a kite, flying off above but forever tied to that person.
To me this song means that right now I want to get away from my life because I just had to walk away from the love of my life and there isn't a thing I can do about it. I wish so badly that I could tie myself to him and be that guiding light in his life but for now I need to let him go. It's a song about hurting and that possibility of moving toward something better far away from the pain I now feel. This song represents my life too closely right now and brings me to tears every time I hear it.
This song reminds me of depression. That need to escape from it, and the need for another person who's secure enough to go away with in your fragile state.
