The Malediction Lyrics

Kiss this girl of stone
My regrets are thin and corse
They are soaked outside the sea
This ship has sailed through fantasy

Create this beautiful... memory of love
A Dance with the dead
It does exist
We still remain

Black vale and cross
Cut away this mist and fog...
and follow your heart
Frozen past and tears from God
Kiss these nightmares; my enemy
Dark angel clouds
Thieves and the wicked
they do not make a sound...

We will love... we will love...

Create this beautiful... memory of love
A Dance with the dead
It does exist
We still remain

... still remain.... still remain....
(scream) LOST!!!!

kiss these nightmares
ugly sounds
from the sea as she cries....
Don't give up!

Create this beautiful... memory of love
A Dance with the dead
It does exist
We still remain
Create this beautiful... memory of love
A Dance with the dead
It does exist
We still remain...
I still remain... with you
I remain with you
... with you

A possible explination for this song, one peice at a time...

"Kiss this girl of stone My regrets are thin and coarse They are soaked outside the sea" Someone regrets very little, and even those regrets may be fading away.

"This ship has sailed through fantasy" They have gone through quite a few crazy events in their life.

"Create this beautiful... memory of love" They remember how much love and effort they put into their journey, and they can remember that and smile.

"A Dance with the dead" Obviously, it's not easy to dance with a corpse. It's brain no longer functions properly, therefor the task is a struggle.

"It does exist We still remain" 'We' is definitely a keyword. There's more than one person on the first-person's side. But, they're still together.

"Black vail and cross Cut away this mist and fog... and follow your heart" They did what they felt they had to, even if it didn't quite make sense.

"Frozen past and tears from God Kiss these nightmares; my enemy" Their past is, in fact, quite torn and frayed, and even God cried, but in the end, they kind of love their enemy, because if not for it, they probably wouldn't be where they are now.

"Dark angel clouds Thieves and the wicked they do not make a sound..." They won a battle against evil.

"We will love... we will love..." They WILL get through this, and love like never before.

"... still remain.... still remain.... (scream) LOST!!!!" They're not done fighting just yet.

"ugly sounds from the sea as she cries.... Don't give up!" But they're not giving up, no matter what may sidetrack them.

"Create this beautiful... memory of love A Dance with the dead It does exist We still remain Create this beautiful... memory of love A Dance with the dead It does exist We still remain..." I think it may repeat because they went through quite a few more battles, but stuck together no matter what. [Note: I could be wrong on that part.]

"I still remain... with you I remain with you ... with you" All in all, they got through it, and they remain together.

mhm.. =]

okay im not quite sure what this song completely means. but as most know it is a love story between a vampire and an angel. and in that story heaven and hell are in a battle you could say.

first off, malediction means a curse, evil speaking, etc. i have a feeling that the curse is their love because of the pain and destruction it has caused between the two extremes (good & evil). He (the vampire) starts off by talking about how he has very few regrets where this love is concerned, because he's lived a 'fantasy' so to speak. "A dance with the dead it does exist we still remain" is saying that their love is not impossible, they are living proof of that. Then he proceeds to tell her to look through everything and all the confusion and to just follow her heart. " a frozen past and tears from God" to me could be a description of the angel. she has died, which terminates her past and God has cried over her new found love with a vampire. the next part is about how the 'thevies and the wicked' are hovering around them like clouds watching them , but they will continue loving each other. "kiss these nightmares ugly sounds from the sea as she cries.... Don't give up!" kiss these nightmares, really does puzzle me. as for the rest, he's saying that through all the maddness all he can hear is her voice tell him to not give up in this fight. then of course the end 'I still remain... with you' shows their dedication to one another through everything that theyre encountering.

its a rough interpretation, but it gets some of the point across. honestly, its a beautiful song and if you can get the concept of the big picture (a vimpire and angel fall inlove causing a huge fallout between heaven and hell) the songs become so much more meaningful =]
