I saw these guys about a week ago and Erlend said it's a song about living in a small town then moving to a big city.

this song is about the commonality between all things and their lack of significance and meaningfulness in your life when you want someone; everything blends together in the near background as that someone becomes your focased point of interest; as you appeal that someone to disentangle or "open up and reach for the stars above you."
