Until the End Lyrics
No one knows who gave the orders
No one asks about the crime
No one looks behind the curtains
No one questions why
The only time we got
Is right about now
I cross my heart
I take the vow
Ill never turn
Ill never bend
I'm with ya now
Until the end
Tonights the test
Tonights the time
I am the punishment
That fits the crime
I'll break the bricks
I'll pick the locks
I don't got nothing
But I'll give what I got
Ill never turn
Ill never bend
I'm with ya now
Until the end
Ten trials whose outcome
All fixed from the start
Nine judges sitting countin'
There money in the dark
Eight towers of iron
Surround the desert town
On a cold December mornin'
Seven martyrs knock them down
Six fathers still waiting
For there sons to come home
Five mothers who know better
And accept that there gone
Four years Iive been hunted
Still i breathe free
Three times i shot the sheriff
And did not spare the deputy
Two prayers I'm prayin'
Until were together
One promise that I'm keeping
Tonight and forever
I'll never turn
I'll never bend
I'm with ya now
Until the end
No one asks about the crime
No one looks behind the curtains
No one questions why
The only time we got
Is right about now
I cross my heart
I take the vow
Ill never bend
I'm with ya now
Until the end
Tonights the time
I am the punishment
That fits the crime
I'll break the bricks
I'll pick the locks
I don't got nothing
But I'll give what I got

He sound a lot like Johnny Cash here...
The Sheriff & Deputy was taken from a Bob Marley song, thats all that I know. Anyone care to explain the song?
Dunno the explaination to this song, but its sure cool:)
It's about vowing to do WHATEVER it takes, to take America back.
i love the countdown in the bridge, and i agree about the whole taking america back thing it needs to be done asap
the song goes like this...
nobody questions authority Tom takes his vows to the revolution he will "punish" american gov for their crimes
as far as the number sequence havent figured em all out yet 10-? guessing its ten blacks who where charged with something and not given fair trial 9- nine justices from the supreme court counting $ 8-? lost on that one 7-? seven young men who knocked down eight towers? lol 6,5- parents of the young men 4- four years since he started his solo project (nightwatchman) 3- bob marley referance... he killed the deputy though 2- one prayer is to see the revolution... no idea bout the other 1- promise that he will always be part of the revolution

Personally, my favorite song by Tom Morello. I'm a RATM fan, an Audioslave fan, and a Nightwatchman fan. I was skeptical at first when I heard he did acoustic folk music, but I was greatly pleased. This is my interpretation, and hopefully I won't look like an idiot.

That's my two-cents. NIGHTWATCHMAN FTW!
Oh, forgot to mention, the sheriff and deputy thing is a Bob Marley reference, who was, of course, a large advocate of peace and freedom and all the good things Tom Morello fights for. The reference was probably Tom's tip-of-the-hat to Marley, citing him as an influence and inspiration.
