Lightning strikes me down
I'm on my knees
I can't write it out
But I'll show you what I mean

And the words, they will drip
Down the side of your cheeks
And I'm able to read them
When they spell out
"Let's just be friends"
Four simple words that
We keep on ignoring again and again
(As if we never even meant it)

Baby, let's leave them all for dead
All those thoughts inside your head
Can be reality
So let yourself believe

My life is a cross
Of a fire and a stampede
I burn inside
You still run after me

Yeah, we'll find out
How it feels to burn alive
Oh, you and me, girl
Let's set ourselves on fire
(As if we never even meant it)

Baby, let's leave them all for dead
All those thoughts inside your head
Can be reality
So let yourself believe

Oh yeah, we don't care who finds out
Tonight is all that matters right now
Let's go once more down to the dance floor
Make me sell my soul for more, yeah

Even when we fall asleep together
Even when we fall asleep together
(As if we never even meant it)

Baby, let's leave them all for dead
All those thoughts inside your head
Can be reality
So let yourself believe
I feel your body radiate
In the lightning we create
So let yourself believe

Oh yeah, we don't care who finds out
Tonight is all that matters right now
Let's go once more down to the dance floor
Make me sell my soul for more, yeah

I believe it says "four simple words" rather than "four syllable". Sure, it may be posted that way on their MySpace, but I've listened to the song over and over and all I keep hearing is "four simple words."

I just listened to it over again, and it does kinda sound like "four simple words." But "four syllables would make more sense if the lines are like so:

And I'm able to read them when they spell out "Let's just pretend," four syllables that We keep on ignoring again and again

"let's just pretend" is four syllables.

it's "let's just be friends", heartDENTER :D and i think "let's just be friends four simple words we keep on ignoring again and again" sounds better! and my favorite part lyrically :D

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
