i can't believe noones commented this. i particularly love this song by them i dunno i just love the last "look at the street lights, oh what a pretty sight" its just totally brilliant.
i think it speaks for itself in meaning aswell.. x
The song is about Kieran, the bass player. Some guy jumped off a scrambler (motorbike), when he was walkin out in Dundee, and stabbed him a few years ago.
"Look at the streetlights" is him lying bleeding before he got help and made it to the hospital!

i thought it was ''You try to get me to jump through your hoop but i won't'' instead of ''You try to give me the chance But you hope that I won't''...and i beleive i'm right x
This is my favourite song on the album, but I honestly had no idea that was what the song was about. xDD Oh god, that's horrible.
The lyric about ignorant people is a rip off of 'Time For Heroes' by The Libertines who are probably The View's main influence and insparation.
but in time for heroes the line is "Its these ignorant faces that bring this town down" but yeah it's pretty close, and the view re definently influenced by the libertines. but i'd say that's a damn good influence to have.
And here he's saying he wants to move town because in that town he's being brought down because of the ignorant people, so it means the same thing as in Time For Heroes and sounds very similar. But that won't stop me loving this song or the band!
