Along Came Spring

Along came spring, the fling and the temperatures changing
The flowers and the trees are exchanging black for green
and green for white and pink
And thats when it hit me, the bright colored floral patterns
Does beauty ever live happily ever after
This time the colors just might stay
And along came Summer and
you breathe it like the air that was yesterday

Along came summer, the bottle rockets ready to blow
And the firecracker showers give an afterglow
And the lemonade's pink and its ready to drink
It also comes in yellow
And thats when it hit me, the air and the powderpuff candy
Tan beaches have more people than sand and
This time they might not go away
And along came Autumn and
you breathe it like the air that was yesterday

Along came Autumn complete with new people to meet
and the word that they say is the word on the street
Now the glow of the yellow goes back into orange and red
And thats when it hit me, the smell of the burning leaves
And the cigarette chimneys have caused this disease and
This time it might not turn to gray
And along came Winter and
you breathe it like the air that was yesterday

Along came Winter, the shutterbug snow on the roof
And the gingerbread angels and Campbell's soup and
The red and the green and the gray in between the white and the black
And thats when it hit me, i thought that i gave it the slip
But the icicles drip and they're loosing their grip and
This time there's no jingle all the way
Cause along came Spring and
i'll breathe it like the air that was yesterday,
or was that just today
