fucking love this song. Frank is amazingly good looking

I interpreted this song personally as it is fun as fuck when you are successfully shagging left right and centre, but the most important and hardest thing is to have something real and awesome, and stick with that.

This song seems to be about the nasty side of love, sex and relationships. However, the line "I'm basically a man" may suggest that everyone, at least if they're male, has the potential to go down this route.

We are not supposed to like the character who is the focus of the lyrics, as he takes advantage of girls in failing relationships:

"I like to feed on broken hearts There ain't no taste like lovers falling apart"

Furthermore, the "If I offer to buy you a drink..." section tells us that the narrator wants the kind of sex where he dominates and is also a reference to drink-spiking. The line "I want you to wake up and remember my name" shows that he is desperate for power and status. This further cements our impression that the character is a total bastard.

The lyrics to the last section,

"The hardest thing you'll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return"

suggest that, ultimately, the swaggering narrator of the song is left feeling hollow by his constant pursuit of loveless sex. Ths more somber music that accompanies these last lyrics is a contrast to the celebratory, chest-beating style that defined the rest of the song. The "cassanova" laments his lifestyle choice.

This is an awesome song, and I think the lyrics are more challenging than some might take them.

"My name is casanova I'm basically a man I have the head of a wolf" He's a whore, he goes out and fucks everything he can, like a beast.

"If I offer to buy you a drink Trust me when i say it's non-alcoholic" Love without alcohol! Because he's hot enough to get a girl with them being drunk, and doesn't want puke all over his cock.

"I like to feed on broken hearts There ain't no taste like lovers falling apart" Maybe it's about picking up girls who've got low self esteem?

"I want to feel your body close against mine Why waste time with conversation When we can fuck for the rest of our lives" By the end of the song the guy's sorta fallen for this girl that he was originally just fucking about, but doesn't really admit it.

"The hardest thing you'll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return" That sums up the main feeling of the guy after he's realised what he's done these girls.

Yeah the songs quiete obviously about the opposite he wants then completly awake and able. I agree with ndoc but the bit about feeding on broken hearts and lovers falling apart is about going after girls who have just come out of relationship and are on the rebound so they're easier to get. I don't think the guy falls for the girl I think its the other way round because he's telling her just to be fucked and leave it at that.

Frank said on a rockworld tv interview that a lot of people misunderstand the meaning of this song.... i think he said "its about a guy enjoying shit while hes sober"

This song is basically about some guy (probably Frank, the lead singer) going out and fucking girls, like an animal (hence the wolf references)

either way, this song is beautiful and AMAZING live :)

I spoke to half of the band after their manchester gig ages ago, and he said it was about all these pricks getting girls drunk and screwing them, and how they get off on taking advantage. Its definatly not about how Frank acts, the songs is written to point out how gross the whole thing is.
