Paralyzed by the beauty of those words
That so delicately drip from this angel of untamed lust
Suddenly I fear the end of my solitude
Once a warrior, poetic shrieks now own my soul

Left behind to fight the ruthless pawns of Eris
Hope will strike her down beneath the blade

Suffering unseen now will be left to burn in her stare
But he no longer fights the torture of her voice
So long forgotten, I am lost in her stare
Now made so clear as she extracts her painful toll
A soul now echoes with the torture of the sirens

Beautiful whispers leave, once so fair
Chain these hands of ageless struggle
Rid us of this beloved curse
An epic tale of deceit is given life once more on silver lips so spiteful
Her tongue screams for him
Rid us of this curse

Suffering unseen now will be left to burn in her stare
But he no longer fights the torture of her voice
So long forgotten, I am lost in her stare
Now made so clear as she extracts her painful toll
A soul now echoes with the torture of the sirens

Set loose so long ago by the foolish whim of Pandora
Phantoms which shall forever prey on mankind's weakness
The grains of time hold no bearing to those eyes
In pale moonlight she sings to the haunted sea
Vile notes seduce old Cerberus to slake unholy thirst

Left behind to fight the ruthless pawns of Eris
Hope will strike her down beneath the blade

Suffering unseen now will be left to burn in her stare
But he no longer fights the torture of her voice
So long forgotten, I am lost in her stare
Now made so clear as she extracts her painful toll
A soul now echoes with the torture of the sirens
With the torture of the sirens

General CommentSirens are the seductive pawns of the goddess of discord, Eris.
During the voyage of the Argo (captained by Jason and the Argonauts)
Several of the men were seduced by the sirens and led from the ship

that's what this song is about.

interesting little fact: Heracles was among the Argonauts on the ship

    General CommentActually, no it dosent.
I read about The Voyage of Argo.
None of the men were seduced away from it, well at least by the sirens.
Odysseus wanted to hear what they sounded like, so his mean tied him to the mast, and no matter how much he begged, they wouldnt let him go.
    He never got down.
Unless you can prove the story I read wrong with a link, I think you got something wrong.
I would like to know what this is about though.
Maybe it was about it, but it sounds like someone was captured.
There were many men who were captured by the sirens.

General CommentWhen the sirens sang, the begininning of there song
promised if they left before the end of the song they would live. But they had to hear the rest of it, and when the song ended, they died.

General CommentI believe that once again, Alesana uses the symbolism to get across their meanings. I believe this song is about a guy who is so deeply in love with someone, that he does not realize that she is hurting him. He compares himself to being controlled by sirens.

"suffering unseen now will be left to burn in her stare
but he no longer fights the torture of her voice
so long forgotten, I am lost in her stare
mad so clear as she extracts her painful toll
a soul now echoes with the torture of the sirens
    ...he is hers..."

"set loose so long ago by the foolish whim of Pandora" is alluding to Pandora in greek mythology. Pandora had a box given to her by Zeus, and she was told never to open it. Out of curiosity she opened it and evil was spread across the land. This shows the foolishness of the man's mistake of falling in love with her.
