I can't believe nobody has commented on this! It's a great song! I think that ths song is basically saying that if u face your fears, whatever they may be, you'll feel better! It's also saying "how do u expect anything to happen if u won't even try." It's saying that it won't be easy but u will feel better once u do it!
I love the first part of this song, the whole "I'm breathing but I'm dead". He's afraid of taking risks, but knows that to LIVE LIFE you have to take them sometimes.
Also, I'm not sure if he's trying to say that the girl is ... conceited ? Maybe she's one of the girls that lets herself go all day long, but at the end of the day, realizes that she doesn't have any friends. :you're sharing your life with no one else" because she doesn't have anyone to share it with. Point is, he tries to tell her that she should get over what she's going through now to experience happiness on the other side ...

This song really hits a personal note with me. It's like sometimes you're so... Uncomfortable putting yourself out there that you just start living a very isolated life, family/close friends, etc. It's sort of sad, because I'm in high school, and I feel like I could be missing things, but I don't think I really need the things I'm missing. Blah.

I had a day of self-reflection today & this song really resonates with me. Especially this part - "I'm breathing but I'm dead" and "Yeah there's a difference Between living and living in your head" - yes, this is depressing but I have been feeling these emotions lately. I've been going through a lot and I think it is because I have been denying a lot of my emotions and things around me. I am trying to figure out why I am the way that I am. This song is really just about self-reflection and finding out why you are depressed and why you are alone in hopes of understanding why you feel this way - and moving on - becoming more aware of yourself. Once you are comfortable with yourself and your emotions you can go "on the other side" and you will find what you are so desperately looking for - which is different for everyone. :) yay!
