great song, i can kinda relate to it, made that gives some meaning to it: people f*ck you over so much, if it's bullies, bosses, sociopaths, psychopaths, egomaniacs, the government, the bankers, the elite, institutional religion, basically everyone who thinks they're authorative over someone else, it makes you doubt your world view, get you down, you dissapear to a safe place, in your head, in your house, to figure the world out. jesus or god cannot save you when people tread on you.
Also I hear singer say my world instead of the world sometimes, which I interpret that he rather holds on to his old world view in his head than to change it to what he had experienced in the real world, of being ostracized
Underrated song and an odd rhythm. :P I like it, though.
Not really sure what it's about, but here's one theory: It's sung from the perspective of a gay person, about they get shunned (feeling ostracised), especially from church (heaven won't help us) so they try to "disappear" or hide their sexuality. In short, an anti-homophobia song. That could be completely off too, I'm looking forward to reading other peoples' ideas about this song.
Going along the lines of what the user above posted, I like to see it as maybe an outcast. Possibly an atheist? I could be wrong, though. :-\
I think this song is about a person losing their faith. Maybe due to losing someone. "Mornings make us cry, saying last goodbyes"
"Lets not go outside, to much works in here, heaven can't help us" Maybe hiding from the world, afraid to face their own doubts.
"Watch the walls melt down" "Jesus lost his crown" These lines kinda give me the idea that their faith is being broken.
