Du Og Meg Lyrics
She fell in love with a boy
Who spoke her second language
And who lived across the ocean
In the evil empire
He awoke her sleeping heart
And swept away the darkness
An acute fear of flying
Couldn't keep her away
Oh, oh, oh
She landed on her feet
And joined his fledgling rock group
As they toured the evil empire
Selling t-shirts at the shows
She taught him what was real
She taught him he was okay
That his thoughts were not just rubbish
That he had something good to give
Still his heart was so ambivalent and hopesick
Of her he wasn't ever sure
But she gave in so sweetly that the spirit said
"Boy, you better go run to her (run to her)"
So when she split, he hopped on a plane
With his parents and his brother
He told her that he loved her
They were married in the summer
Oh, oh, oh
Who spoke her second language
And who lived across the ocean
In the evil empire
And swept away the darkness
An acute fear of flying
Couldn't keep her away
And joined his fledgling rock group
As they toured the evil empire
Selling t-shirts at the shows
She taught him he was okay
That his thoughts were not just rubbish
That he had something good to give
Of her he wasn't ever sure
But she gave in so sweetly that the spirit said
"Boy, you better go run to her (run to her)"
With his parents and his brother
He told her that he loved her
They were married in the summer

I agree with JACKIE THE HOBO, and Pablo Traine. This song is simply amazing.
it's def about nina.
i love how kevin describes america as " the evil empire".
it makes me very happy
Du og meg means "you and me" or something like that, in norwegian. Nina comes from Norway, so it's definitely about her.
I think he says "She fell in love with a boy who spoke HER second language."
awwwwww of montreal is my favorite band ever :)
jesus, i melt every time i hear one of their songs! i'm totally gone now.
The horns are a great touch. Reminds me of old-school OM.
it most definently says "spoke her second language"... because we all know how Kevin speaks with his up pitched words and whatnot. pronouncing it "ha" instead of "her"
this song is really amazing! of montreal is continuously on my mind.(i'm obsessed with the shins too..)
i love the beat and melody an the syncopation oh just everything of of montreal :))))))))))
great song, waqcku is right its all about the horns
and yea.. he definately says "HER second language."
Yes, as a Norwegian I can confirm that "du og meg" means "you and me".
