If taken at face value, the message is pretty clear.
Eventually we'll die off after we've destroyed everything that our planet had to offer. We were too ignorant to realise what we were doing, but now it's too late to try and repair the damage.
But I think that the overall message in this song is: Apathy is a bad, bad thing.
It seems like most of Return to Cookie Mountain is saying how bad apathy is. In fact, I'd say that's been TVOTR's overall theme in every album and ep they've made so far.
Not a bad message though, there certainly isn't a shortage of it in America.
Love it, this was my favorite TVOTR song for a long time... I always thought it was about a girl, he calls a world- and too a little question about our world we know being the only thing we can know...
I don't know how this didn't make it into the main track list of Return To Cookie Mountain. It's easily one of their best songs
