I think this song is about Bruce and Free's relationship as songwriters. Zerospace is a metaphorical plane where their thoughts run parallel and they create something that's greater than the sum of its parts. But, for whatever reason, they occasionally fall out of the space, and that's where creative conflicts arise. She both hates and loves the experience of writing with another person.
Or she could have just been on a lot of E when she wrote it, who knows.
