It's about trying to keep love alive before it exhausts itself. It's about being at the brink of losing someone you've had for so long and at the last possible moment reaching out to try and make it work. Very touching song.
To me this song is about a guy reaching out to a girl he still loves even though she left him. He tells her for all his life he is hers. He asks what if their love had never went way, what if it's just lost behind words they can't find. He's beggin her for a second chance before it's too late.
I think it's about two people who both got hurt in this relationship...their love start fading and guess they just separated...but the guy hurt more and have broken heart...he is reaching up and trying to make things work...he think she still love him too when he look into her eyes...so he is asking what is she going to do...he let her know she no need to be afraid to come back cause he belong to her forever.

to me this song is about me and my ex. been my ex for 5 months now. It's about loving someone and you had to break up. you didnt want to break up but at the time you didnt really have much of a choice. your both still friends but your acting like you dont love each other cause you dont want to show it. This song is about knowing you still love them and Realizing they might still love you too, or like you at least. so it's like What about now? What if your making me all that I was meant to be? i think chris daughtry would have to be the best current artist considering his songs have the deepest meanings, that actually relate to real life..
