Awesome song by the Chilis (as always) with a rad reggae feel to it :D

Lyrically my first impression is that its just a plain and simple love song :)

hahah but it seems like anthony kiedis might be thinking about getting hitched, the tone of the song and also the lines "Every single little princess needs a crown / make more of life just settle down" make me think he's talking marriage, but who knows. Great feel to it, this song makes me really happy. Keep on rocking Chili Peppers!

I'm intrigued by the childishness of this song.

The first thing that jumped out at me was the line "Lo lo lo lolita," in reference to the Nabokov novel. Is this "little princess" just a child-like woman, as I am inclined to think? Or does this song maybe (just to play the Devil's advocate for a brief moment here) indulge in a bit of lyrical pedophilia?

He likes this girl because of her "funny face," her "laugh," her "paper chase," her "poppy eyes" and "tears," her "bunny shake"...

And she's his "angel baby," his "darling," his "star Lolita"?

Though I don't think the RHCPs are pedophiles, I certainly wouldn't put them beyond some flirting with sexual perversion.

i really like this song and it always puts a smile on my face. it's just a cheerful love song. i think it;s clearly just about anthony's new found love and how much he appreciates her " A lot of girls won't come around they Treat me like a wolf" he seems so happy and in love. the "it must have been" choruses are about how he fell in love with her. her name's Heather and he makes references her throughout the new album. i love the "oh ohoh uhuh uhuh uhuh baby etc."

I'm positive it's "lopsided eyes and a crooked frown" not "I've started eyes in a crooked frown"

I love this song so much!! Always manages to cheer me up!! I think it's a love song, about Heather. Possibly. And I agree with soulbridefreakette that its "lopsided eyes and crooked frown". Amazing song! This should have been on SA.

i love to see rhcp in reagee stile .. Theyre best rock group ever and their best album is Californication ...scartissue and stuff like that... LOVE this song! The reggae vibe, the words, its just a beautiful love song, and i love the lyric about girls treating him like a wolf. He has a bit of a rep with the ladies but this girl sees beyond that. He says it must have been...like he wasn't aware he had fallen for her, bless him.
