Don't Bury Me... I'm Still Not Dead Lyrics
To all the given ups, the special needs crew.
To all those who were told "we didn't need you."
To all the people who are eating all alone,
you know something fucked that kid up good.
To all those who wake up at dawn,
underpayed and then shit upon.
To all my friends who never had a chance.
To those who closed their eyes,
thinking they'd be better off...for now.
To those who felt that the gods kept them from getting out,
this town.
To spite as a reason.
To clothes out of season.
To those stuck in caskets as nails hammer in.
Just keep screaming out...I'm still not dead.
To the ugly ones with the bad teeth,
staring at the pretty people that they can't meet.
Staring at the magazines on the endcaps,
that fuck your head up good.
To all those buried in the ground,
God knows I wish you were around,
to laugh and cuss about what's going down.
To those who stand watching the last bus as it drives away...again.
Those those who see that by not playing and not giving in...they win.
To have no good reason,
To no cuts and lesions.
And to the confusion of our enemies.
Just keep screaming out...I'm still not dead.
Don't bury me yet.

First to comment!! Really catchy song and the meaning is a lot deeper. I think what he is trying to say is for the people who work hard and dont get much credit for it should make their voice heard and not give up. Just keep trying and you will succeed in some way.
I love this song. Pretty much the same as the last comment, a song that screams seize the day or something like that. like stand up and make your voice heard. totally awesome!
To the outcasts: Keep trying and living.
"And to the confusion of our enemies. Just keep screaming out...I'm still not dead. Don't bury me yet"
Show everyone that even though you don't fit in it doesn't mean you can't succeed (seize the day like Matterman said)
GREAT BAND. GREAT SONG.
"to those stuck in caskets as nails hammer in just keep screaming out i'm still not dead"
wow
I love the lyrics to this song, but the band really doesn't make it sound appealing at all! the way mike makes his voice sound uncomfortably deep in some parts and awkward amount of sylabals (sp?) in some lines and fewer in others makes the song very hard to be catchy because of something so trivial as the awkward beat! the lyrics to this are AMAZING! definitly a carpe diem (seize the day) motto of a song! my favorite part is:
To all those buried in the ground, God knows I wish you were around, to laugh and cuss about what's going down.
I always heard this song a toast. A toast to people who keep fighting to win, even the ones lost the fight. And one final toast "to the confusion of our enemies." I've used a few of these in bars and you can guarantee that no-one has heard them before.

And I love Mikes voice.
And I love Mikes voice.
Yeah I sort of agree with kat2011 with the way he sings it; it does have a very deep meaning but he sings the words too fast; if they came out a bit slower, I'm sure the meaning of the song would stand out more and pack more of a punch. But I love this song and it's attitude of never giving up, it matches the way the song sounds, also love the line "And to the confusion of our enemies, just keep screaming out I'm Still Not Dead". Like how they use and album name as lyrics in a song. Riverboat Gamblers are so underrated, I wish punk rock music like this was still fairly big today as it was 5/7 years ago
In regards to the speed of the lyric delivery, i do agree that it makes it hard to understand, but I love the punch of how it's delivered.
As someone whose going through the lowest of lows in my life right now, the vocals feel like someone whose taken hit after hit and still chooses to laugh at the face of opposition.
It may be a bit nail on the head, but it feels like this song is more than just to outcasts, but to those who are especially hitting their lows or brinks in life, and reminds them that, if anything, to live in spite of the opposition and that your presence enough is proof that you need to keep going.
I understand where everyone is coming from from when they say you're at a low point etc. but honestly I think it's aimed more at anyone that's shit upon/looked down on/margainalized etc. How is this different? Well some of those people aren't going through a low point because that's all they've ever had and ever known. They could happy-go-lucky, but the song is for them too. And the meek shall inherit the earth. And in my opinion he sings it fucking beautifully. Teared me up the first time i heard. And at several other times. Just like johnny cash's man in black
