Superstar Tradesman Lyrics

Superstar tradesman
Stand at the bar
Get a trade son
You will go far
you have a house in the ferry
And a new guitar that's never been played before
and it never will
Never been played before
and it never will

The weather is sunny
You're locked inside
The weather is sunny
Oh yes
Ive tried and ive tried
to keep me sane to keep me sane
to keep me sane to keep me sane

I don't want money I want a thing called happiness
I don't want cash you know
I'd quite like memories
To keep us on track
Lets never look back
To keep us on track
Lets never look back

What would you do
If I asked you
What would you do
If I asked you
To sail away to see some sights
Sail away with me to see some sights

Superstar tradesman
Stand at the bar
Get a trade son
You will go far
you have a house in the ferry
And a new guitar that's never been played before
and it never will
Never been played before
and it never will

The line "you'll have a house in the Ferry" is a reference to the town Broughty Ferry, which is a (upper) middle-class suburb of Dundee (where the band are from).

Yeah, The Ferry should have capitals.

'get a trade son, you will go far'

most people hear these words when leaving school, this is about some friends who chose learning a trade (the sensible job) over carrying on with music, giving up on the dream & never having time to enjoy life & do what they love

The song's about the band members and their parnets tellin ythem to geta trade when they leave school and that if they done that they could buy themselves brand new guitars, drums etc.

They didn't want to do this because it didn't suit them and when you start working you'll find you're too tired to play your new guitar so it defeats the purpose of getting a trade in the first place!

yehhh basically whats been said...

"I don't want money I want a thing called happiness I don't want cash you know I'd quite like memories"

i love these lines, basically yeh they could earn alot doing a trade but carrying on with music, while they might not always have a steady income, will allow them to have amazing memories.

this song is bossss.
