its amazing how far music can come.. 24 years after it released and its one of the most heartfelt songs ive heard
Stop!
Oooh, Oooh
Oooh, Oooh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
You try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
And there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Way out in the water
See her swimmin'
I was swimmin' in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks, yeah
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Tryin' to talk to me to me to me
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Way out in the water
See her swimmin'
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
If there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Way out in the water
See her swimmin'
Oooh, Oooh
Oooh, Oooh
Oooh, Oooh
Oooh, Oooh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
You try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
And there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Way out in the water
See her swimmin'
I was swimmin' in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks, yeah
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Tryin' to talk to me to me to me
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Way out in the water
See her swimmin'
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
If there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Where is my mind
Way out in the water
See her swimmin'
Oooh, Oooh

Techno Ted

Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Does brian actually sing in this? Doesnt sound like him in the slightest and i cant find any versions where it is him.
I figured he might just play guitar?
Almost every version of the song online is a fake (The original Pixies version but says Placebo), If you wanna download the real one, download it with the "Sleeping With Ghosts" Bonus CD.
RoD_131 is right. i listened to the real song by placebo on the radio but, when i tried to download it, the one that i got was the original song by the pixies.
Good version.
I prefer this to the original.
i love placebo, but only the pixies do this song justice tbh.
The Placebo version sounds exactly like the Pixies version, unlike most Placebo covers which change the tone dramatically.
If you want a really cool version check out 'Soulmates Never Die' DVD for the performance with Frank Black (Pixies).
I personally prefer this to the Pixies version, although they're both good.
this song reminds me of fight club :D best film ever!! xoxox
