This song is about forgiveness... like most of the songs on this album, the identities of the singer and his subject are not clear. Who needs to be forgiven? Maybe the affair ended and she came home (along with the animals?) and he forgives her. Maybe she decided to leave with the one who drives her wild and she needs to forgive herself. But it is time to them to put their "day" behind them and heal. True love is a place where you belong.
Although this song sounds a little bit too familiar to Cold Water, its still a great song to relax to and just reflect esp. when things arent okay
If you can play this song and Cold water at the same time it is wonderful. It is supposed to sound like cold water, just like The blowers daughter and Elephant sound alike. The two songs go together, hand in hand.

i love this song. I dont know what it is about and i dont care. The lyrics are so beautiful and the are deep and emotional. Damien obviously put all over his heart into this one and it is amazing. I think it is probably his best!!!!
I just heard it on Greys Anatomys episode where Meredith drowned and they were trying to make her breathe again, the song was heard just before she came back, it fits so perfect, the lyrics, the voice... just great...
this song came on out of 7,000 tracks on my boys computer, exactly when i was crying about him moving away, i begged him to stay with me, but he said he needed to find a place where he belonged... and it wasnt here, even if he loved me. when i cried the song played"sleep, dont weep, my sweet love" if on cue, it came on...
this song, is just beautiful, every time i hear it i cry. all of damien rice's songs are totally unique and not the typical mainstream crap, they are REAL peices of music.
I think this song is about two people obvisouly in love with each other but the fighting has become unbearable so they part ways. however, they still care about each other more than he can say. but now they're both able to sleep, maybe beause things are not supposed to work or becuase they're so numb to feeling they cant weep
