Halloween Lyrics
I'm sorry, he brought us there,
Me crying in my underwear
On the morning, of Halloween
Like a story out of people magazine
I drove home, and fell asleep alone
I'm sorry, for crying, don't feel bad
You didn't do that
[Chorus]
Black and blues, and yellows too
Fade the stain
As embers do
Wake up tomorrow, and feel new,
The story, that we won't share
Were all goin' to hide it well away somewhere,
A warning for family
The kind a person give about anatomy
Now, well known,
Lets never sleep alone
I'm sorry, for crying, don't feel bad
You didn't do that
I'm sorry were crying, don't feel bad
Because we didn't do that
[Chorus: x3]
Me crying in my underwear
On the morning, of Halloween
Like a story out of people magazine
I drove home, and fell asleep alone
You didn't do that
Black and blues, and yellows too
Fade the stain
As embers do
Wake up tomorrow, and feel new,
Were all goin' to hide it well away somewhere,
A warning for family
The kind a person give about anatomy
Lets never sleep alone
You didn't do that
Because we didn't do that

i think this is another song referring to how he was molested as a child.
"I'm sorry, he brought us there, me crying in my underwear On the morning, of halloween like a story out of people magazine"
this verse is about his youth being ruined because of the molestation
"i'm sorry, for crying, dont feel bad you didnt do that"
black and blues, and yellows too fade the stain as embers do wake up tommrow, and feel new.
(fix stain to same) black and blues are bruises, and yellow maybe represents him wetting his bed from the trauma. and maybe the end is about how his memory of it faded and he's trying to move on.
he obviously cried a lot because of it, and he didn't want his parents to feel bad because it wasn't their fault
Maybe his girlfriend tried to sleep with him and he got really scared because he was reminded of his molestation in his childhood. Then after, in the morning of Halloween, he drove away just like a story out of people magazine. Then the gf felt bad and he says 'it's not you' and 'lets never sleep alone again' because he's ready to move on from his past.
It makes a lot of sense you know... but it was a boyfriend, since he is gay, actually makes more sense, since his trauma was triggered from the contact with another man. I think that it was his first relationship with a guy and he was too traumatized, but then realized that wasn´t the guys fault and finally moved on... well, no one can totally forget something like that, but you can get used to the pain.

I would have to agree on it causing crying...I know I can't get close to my boyfriend like I want because it still freaks me out.....I still cry when a man touches me

most likely about his molestation, i would say its probably about how him and his family wanted to move on from it but it's not that easy. not easy to move on from something like that. i think the black & blue & yellow are all his bruises; yellow bruises are the healing ones. the part with "crying in my underwear" could be when he first came back, or his flashbacks.
To me this song is about the sexual dysfunction that comes with being abused. You can have a difficult time engaging in any sort of intimacy, no matter how much you care for your partner. And like the song says, it's not their fault.
