I Am Without Shoes Lyrics
I'm serious
I want her
I have to be sure
I admit that I'd hate to die
Please
Help me
I am without shoes
I wouldn't be selfish
I cursed myself and they laughed
Please
I am without shoes
I no longer have to be sure
Yeah
Don't think I need to stare
Please
Help me
I am without shoes
I wouldn't be selfish
I cursed myself and the laughed
Please
I am without shoes
I no longer have to be sure
Yeah
Don't think I need to stare
Please
I want her
I have to be sure
I admit that I'd hate to die
Please
Help me
I wouldn't be selfish
I cursed myself and they laughed
Please
I no longer have to be sure
Yeah
Don't think I need to stare
Please
Help me
I wouldn't be selfish
I cursed myself and the laughed
Please
I no longer have to be sure
Yeah
Don't think I need to stare
Please

Pretty difficult to decipher what the lyrics actually are, let alone what they mean. Without looking into any hidden meaning, it sounds and feels like absolute surrender to love/desire. The song is a section of She Bangs The Drums played backwards with forwards vocals. The Roses had it played as their intro to the Anti Clause 28 gig in 1988. This goes right up alongside Guernica and Simone for soul-stirring potency. Something about the backwards songs just really connects (can't really get along with Full Fathom Five myself though). Simone especially is worth checking out if you havn't heard it.
There is no hidden message, this is just part of "She Bangs The Drums" played backwards-no foward vocals. I'm fairly sure they just decreased the guitar and amplified Rani; I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure thats what I read somewhere.
P.S. Try reversing the song on Goldwave to hear it properly, it just makes the song even more wonderful compared to other "Backmasking Messages". The "Satanic messages" on vinyl are a joke compared to "I Am Without Shoes".
Forget that last message, my brother likes to write nonsense on different boards under my name.
I am without shoes is about Moses - "For I am without shoes" I think is mentioned in Exodus somewhere, might have been the flight from egypt. Something's Burning also has connections on Moses.
