Long Time Lyrics
You like an army
Occupy my mind
The quietness of time
And I wish I could ignore you
And the impression that you made in my life
Cos it's been a long time
A long time coming around
And whether its the right time
Or the wrong time, the time is now
But you say it's important
Oh to focus on yourself
And no one else
But if this makes me happy
Oh I ask you then do I have a choice?
Cos it's been a long time
A long time coming around
And whether its the right time
Or the wrong time, the time is now
And you say who's gonna bring me water now?
You say who?
And you say who's gonna bring me water now?
Oh you will work it out, somehow.
Cos it's been a long time
A long time coming around
And whether its the right time
Or the wrong time, the time is now
Cos maybe the right time
Has just come around
Occupy my mind
The quietness of time
And I wish I could ignore you
And the impression that you made in my life
A long time coming around
And whether its the right time
Or the wrong time, the time is now
Oh to focus on yourself
And no one else
But if this makes me happy
Oh I ask you then do I have a choice?
A long time coming around
And whether its the right time
Or the wrong time, the time is now
You say who?
And you say who's gonna bring me water now?
Oh you will work it out, somehow.
A long time coming around
And whether its the right time
Or the wrong time, the time is now
Cos maybe the right time
Has just come around

The melody to this song sounds very similar to "The Woman At The Well". .. "who's going to bring me water now?" that line seems to hint a connection. i think this song is about a person having the upper hand in the relationship. they seem to push their beliefs/opinions on the protagonist. & they have left a lasting, unwanted, impression on this person. the protagonist may have had enough of putting up with this person's domineering ways, & the "time" has come for them to speak up & remove themself from the relationship.
Oh, wow. I didn't even notice The Woman By The Well had the same melody. What an observation!
Ah, I've always liked this little hidden track. Nice way to end the album.
