Q&A
On Sussex Downs. Lyrics
I could breather so deep,
The glorious backdrop of my eyes ached,
I smiled until it hurt,
The centre of the field was at peace!
For today I am a wild creature,
And tomorrow I will be lost again.
I threw my shoes to the right,
I flung my socks to the left,
My shirt came off,
I fed it to a cow!
I carried on forever,
My feet were idle lovers together.
The glorious backdrop of my eyes ached,
I smiled until it hurt,
The centre of the field was at peace!
And tomorrow I will be lost again.
I flung my socks to the left,
My shirt came off,
I fed it to a cow!
My feet were idle lovers together.

'my shirt came off, i fed it to a cow.' i love that so much.
this song is just so lovely and simple and happy. unless there's some sinister underlying meaning that i'm just not getting :]
this song is gorgeous. it shows the beauty in simplicity, enjoying your own company and the carefree pleasures of nature.
with this said, i do prefer the patrick wolf cover over the original.
