Erica America Lyrics

Hair in curls
Not quite as tall as the other girls
Id ran away from the laughter upstairs
Wear high heels and I cut my hair
Try to conceal so tired of their small town games
Whistle a tune of a horse with no name
Hang around by the stadium
Drinking a wine like a bowery bum

Erica lets go out tonight
Staying out till the morning light
Erica lets go out tonight
Everythings gonna be alright

Diamond joe
He took my watch and my stereo
I wished I hadnt got a permanent wave
Cant show my face at the town arcade
Cant stand that place anyway

Tired of their small town games
Whistle a tune of I gotta see jane yeah
Read the stars of an aries girl
Wear the crown in another world

I think the last graph is actually, "whistle a tune of that goddess Sweet Jane" referring to the song by the Velvet Underground and Lou Reed.

It makes sense considering that the first time around she says, "Whistle a tune of a horse with no name." Which refers to the song by America. Which comes back around to "Erica America".

@MaxwellHammer no it's Gotta See Jane. Whistle the tune of I Gotta See Jane.

This is a beautiful song. The lyrics are simple and straightforward, but the narrative remains obscure.

"Sweet Jane" would make more sense, the Velvet Underground being an American band, but it sure sounds like "I gotta see Jane" to me.
